Specialist MSK Physiotherapist

Thomas has worked part time for Physis Physiotherapy for some years and we have never been able to pin him down full time. He is heavily involved with professional cycling in Ireland as well as his PhD studies here in Edinburgh. When we do have him around the patients love is knowledge and enthusiasm. Although he joins Ola as our two ‘cycling’ physiotherapists he is great with all types of patients.

Hobbies

I love cycling (road and CX), running and hillwalking.

I was a member of the Irish Elite National Cycling Team during 2014 to 2016 as part of Rio 2016 Olympic Bid and have competed for Ireland in various World Cups and World & European Championships between 2012-2016.

Personal statement

I am a cycling performance coach to amateur through to elite, Olympic and Paralympic level athletes helping them achieve National, European and World championship medal-winning performances and personal goals. I recently won the Association prize at the international BASEM conference work on pregnancy and postpartum athlete policy. I continue to blend my development in academic studies and my practical development from working within Physis Physiotherapy.

What our patients say about Tom

I started treatments in Edinburgh in late 2023 with Tom Fallon for a pinched nerve and related pain transferring down my right arm. Tom immediately identified the issue and started me on a programme of flossing-type exercises, followed by strengthening exercises using weights. Having suffered with pain for a number of months prior to my consultations, I was surprised at the speed of the improvements as a result of Tom’s work and I returned to normal after a few sessions.

Unfortunately, in January 2024 I suffered a significant hip injury and again Tom was able to help, initially with advice on getting more mobile and then a programme of strengthening exercises. My recovery has been much quicker than it would have been without Tom’s input and I find myself in a position where I expect to make a full recovery within the next 4 -6 weeks.

I have been very impressed with Tom’s skills and professionalism and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who needs his support.
