GaitScan Forceplate Technology

The GaitScan system is a revolutionary diagnostic tool for assessing patients’ foot biomechanics during walking. The GaitScan has an industry high 4096 sensors which scan at 300hz (300 scans per seconds). These measurements create a range of visual and graphical results which provide the team at physis a sophisticated explanation of your foot mechanics and function.

The system measures the distribution of force throughout your foot during each step, identifying high pressure areas, timing issues and gait abnormalities. The system is equipped with enough sensors and speed to accurately graph the pressures exerted during the gait cycle and produce a detailed report as well as a variety of 2D and 3D visual results

Uses:

  • Assessment of biomechanical foot faults
  • Assessment of suitability for orthotic (insole) therapy
  • Analysis of walking and running biomechanics
  • Identification of skin pressure areasGaitScan Uses

Why does a GaitScan help your care?

From the results of a scan we can identify the cause of your problem. This may mean a change in your physiotherapy plan or a referral to our in house Podiatrist. But analysis using modern technology adds to the service we provide for your care.
